Why "Anti-Aging" Is Out—And What Works Better

Hello, my friend!

I am not feeling the 'anti-aging' vibe. I'm all about aging and evolving with grace and vitality and feeling fabulous! Aging is a natural part of life, and instead of fighting it, we can nurture, heal, and embrace ourselves to feel amazing and thrive.

Radiant Skin at Every Age: My Pro-Aging Skincare Guide

Turning 50 has been an invitation to reflect—on life, on work, and on the ways we care for ourselves. After over two decades of supporting women's health and skin wellness, I’ve realized something essential: our self-talk is often our greatest barrier. And nowhere is this truer than in how we approach aging.

Let’s change the conversation from “anti-aging” to “pro-aging.” Let’s celebrate longevity, nourish our bodies, and focus on keeping our skin—and our spirits—vibrant as we grow. I’ve just compiled a Pro-Aging Skincare Guide with tips designed to keep your maturing skin healthy, happy, and truly thriving.

In the guide, I share some of my favorite practices, like embracing skin barrier protection, choosing gentle products, and recognizing that what we feed our bodies feeds our skin, too. It’s not about chasing youth because, to be completely honest, I'm much happier than I was 20-30 years ago but about finding new ways to support our skin and our bodies as we evolve.

My Favorite Gua Sha Tools for Facial Rejuvenation

One of the questions I get all the time is, "What gua sha tool do you recommend?" I've given this a lot of thought, especially after using almost every tool imaginable over the past 22+ years. Here's the thing: the real magic of gua sha lies in the hands holding the tool, not in the tool itself. Engaging with your skin, connecting with the practice, is far more important than the shape or stone.

That being said, some tools do make the process a little more special. I've shared a list of my favorite gua sha tools—the ones I use myself and the ones I keep coming back to—in a new blog post. If you're curious, take a look at my go-to picks and why I love them:

Remember, it's not just about finding the perfect tool—it's about the care you bring to your skin. I hope this helps you feel more empowered on your gua sha journey.

What I'm Reading

Reset Your Nervous System (Starting with Your Belly!)

Let’s be honest—no matter who you are, it’s been a week. Life’s pressures have a way of settling in our bodies, and for many women, that nervous tension takes up residence in our abdomens. It’s more than just “feeling off.” It can leave us carrying discomfort, shame, or even digestive issues.

But here’s the empowering part: our bellies aren’t just where we hold stress—they’re also where we can unlock healing.

Let’s Start with Our Bellies

This vulnerable area of the body holds so much potential for release and renewal. While visiting an acupuncturist (like me!) is a wonderful way to help release stuck energy, there’s also a powerful way to support that work at home.

Enter my book of the week: Unwinding the Belly: Healing with Gentle Touch by Allison Post and Stephen Cavaliere.

This step-by-step guide teaches simple, intuitive techniques to help you gently relax the tension in your abdomen. It’s a tool for self-care I’ve owned, reread, and gifted more times than I can count.

Whether you’re looking to address digestive issues, ease anxiety, or reconnect with your body’s wisdom, this book offers accessible exercises to help you reset your nervous system and reclaim a sense of peace.

So if your week has left you feeling braced and burdened, let this be your permission slip to pause, breathe, and try something new.

Your belly—and your whole being—will thank you.

P.S. If you’ve read Unwinding the Belly or decide to pick up a copy, I’d love to hear what you think! Hit reply and let me know.

I’m cheering for you. Have a wonderful week!
