For women in the middle of everything

Let’s be honest: midlife can be disorienting. Your hormones are doing one thing, your skin another, and your energy… well, where did that go?

If you sometimes feel a little off—or like no one warned you it would be this complicated—you’re in the right place.

I’m Dr. Catherine Price, a Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine with 20+ years of experience helping women feel better in their bodies, balance their hormones, and show up fully in every stage of life. My practice in Newport, Rhode Island, is rooted in both science and soul: I combine acupuncture, herbal medicine, microcurrent therapy, and lymphatic work with the kind of honest, compassionate care I wish every woman had access to.

This newsletter isn’t about perfection.

It’s about the messy, fascinating, surprising process of becoming more yourself—with each year, each wrinkle, each shift in energy or appetite or identity.

It’s a love letter to women in the middle of everything.

What you’ll find here:

  • Hormonal truths no one tells you—delivered without shame or fluff

  • Tips for better sleep, digestion, skin, and sex (yes, really)

  • Chinese medicine wisdom, minus the jargon

  • Personal stories—from my patients, my life, and yes, my own medicine cabinet

  • A sense of “Oh, it’s not just me.”

Sometimes it’s a practical tip. Sometimes it’s a story I didn’t plan to share.
Always, it’s an invitation to feel seen, supported, and just a little more steady in your skin.

Why Substack?

Because I wanted a home for these conversations.
Not just broadcast-y updates, but actual connection. A place where we can talk about bloating, bone broth, libido, and the quiet power of a well-placed nap—and know it’s all part of the picture.

About Me

I’ve spent over two decades in private practice, supporting women through fertility struggles, perimenopause spirals, post-op recovery, and everything in between. My philosophy is simple: Yes, you can. You can feel good in your body. You can say not to things that don’t serve you. You can age with radiance. You can learn to trust yourself again.

I’m also a woman in early 50s. I’ve skipped the kale and eaten peanut butter off a spoon in my bathrobe. I’ve had nights when I lay awake wondering if I was losing it, and mornings when I felt like myself again.

This work is personal. And if you’ve read this far, maybe it is for you too.
